Description

A high profile North Carolina Congressional Campaign in open seat NC US House District 04 is looking to hire a Finance Director. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proven record of leadership skills and innovation. Primary election date is currently scheduled for March 8, 2022



Requirements

Overview

The Finance Director will be a member of senior staff and work closely with the campaign leadership team and to draft and execute a primary fundraising plan while overseeing a small team of finance staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist campaign leadership team in developing and refining an aggressive 5 month finance plan.
  • Develop and execute a multi-faceted short and long-term finance plan with programs aimed at multiple categories of donors (high–and low-dollar individuals, institutional givers, and online contributors) with programs targeted at specific constituencies of donors.
  • Develop integrated fundraising campaigns between traditional and digital channels in coordination with Digital Fundraising Firm.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage small-and large-scale fundraising events ranging from small social gatherings to large events with 100+ attendees within North Carolina and nationally.
  • Manage member call time for the candidate, conduct follow-up donor correspondence and pledges, and oversee thank you programs. 
  • Build on the existing donor database by identifying, researching, and recruiting new donors.
  • Oversee full finance staff
  • Work with the Treasurer, Candidate, Staff and Compliance Firm to ensure proper compliance and preparation of FEC finance reports.
  • Maintain accurate records in the finance database, and monitor for areas of improvement and/or enhanced information.
  • Write and/or oversee the creation of direct mail and online/email solicitations
  • Ensure the Candidate is staffed at finance-related events.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will excel at working with candidates, consultants, vendors, senior staff and a wide variety of stakeholders. They will demonstrate:

  • Commitment to electing Democrats to the US House, and passionately aligned with Candidate’s strong progressive values.
  • Minimum one cycle statewide, congressional, large municipal or legislative committee campaign finance director, deputy finance director or relevant development-related experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience with NGP and other finance software.
  • Lives in or willing to relocate to North Carolina for the duration of the current campaign cycle.
  • Must have a car.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends as needed. 

Salary for this position is between $65,000 to $85,000 annually. The salary will take into consideration years of experience, expertise, and final job description. Employees are eligible to participate in the campaign’s retirement plan and medical plans.
